Zirconia crowns and bridges are milled and sintered in your laboratory, but the design decides much of the result: contacts, connectors, margins and wall thickness. Nearshore zirconia CAD design moves that design step to a team in Mexico while your lab keeps milling, sintering and finishing.

PROCA delivers zirconia designs as production-ready files. The useful questions are which cases to send, what the file must account for and how your lab approves it.

Identify the zirconia and restoration

Specify the restoration type, units, shade and the exact zirconia product your lab mills. Material families can contain variants with different properties and indications. Select the applicable product with the responsible technical and clinical team; a generic label such as high-translucency does not establish suitability for every case.

What the design must account for

The file has to respect the minimum thickness and connector dimensions that the material instructions specify, along with margins, contacts and occlusion. State those parameters with the case or agree them when you calibrate preferences; this article supplies no universal geometry parameters.

Your lab keeps milling, sintering and finishing

PROCA sends the approved design as a digital file. Nesting, milling, sintering, staining and finishing stay with your laboratory. Keep the approved file version with the case and agree who may request a change, so the version that is milled is the version that was approved.

Compare the cost of an accepted design

Design is billed in prepaid design credits. A lower rate per unit does not by itself mean a lower cost: include redesigns, internal review time and remakes caused by design, using the nearshore CAD comparison.

Start with a few representative cases

Choose representative work and agree acceptance criteria for the files before you start. Record the questions raised, the adjustments your team made before milling and the result after finishing. Expand only the scope that evaluation supports; an isolated successful piece does not establish sustained capacity.
